A Complete Picture of Your Pet’s Health

Diagnostic tests are an essential part of your pet’s overall wellness. They allow our veterinary team to gather important information about your pet’s health over time and help us accurately diagnose your pet when he or she experiences an illness or injury.

At Brodie Animal Hospital, we go above and beyond to provide exceptional care for your pet. We are an AAHA-accredited hospital and a Gold Certified Cat Friendly Practice, both of which ensure that we maintain the highest standards in veterinary medicine.

We offer a wide range of diagnostic services, including:

  • Digital radiology
  • Ultrasound
  • Laboratory testing

Digital Radiology

Digital radiology, commonly referred to as x-ray, produces clear images of your pet’s bones, oral cavity, heart, chest, and more. Painless and non-invasive, digital radiology is an important diagnostic tool because it allows veterinarians to quickly identify problems that may be missed on a routine exam, such as a growth or decaying tooth.

Ultrasound is another common diagnostic procedure that uses high-frequency sound waves to view your pet’s organs in real-time. Like radiology, ultrasound is non-invasive, pain-free, and provides important information about your pet’s health. It is particularly helpful in identifying disease and aiding in certain surgical procedures, such as biopsies.

Laboratory testing

Diagnostic lab work includes several kinds of tests that evaluate your pet’s blood, urine, or feces. These tests are essential to your pet’s overall care, as they allow us to monitor your pet’s health over his or her lifetime. They are also helpful in identifying illness or injury, such as the presence of a parasite or the development of a chronic condition.

Our veterinary clinic is proud to offer a wide array of in-house laboratory tests including:

  • Chemistry labs
  • Complete blood counts
  • Electrolyte testing
  • Thyroid and heartworm testing

Specialized Diagnostics

For most tests, we are able to provide owners and their families with immediate answers regarding their pet’s health. However, sometimes pets require specialized tests. We work with local specialists to provide your pet with the procedures he or she needs, often bringing veterinarian diagnosticians to our hospital or providing them with the results online. We also partner with outside laboratory facilities that complete advanced testing. Our goal is to provide your pet with advanced medical care in an efficient manner.
