The Value of an AAHA-Certified Veterinary Practice

January 05, 2023

If you had the chance to be observed and judged on 900+ standards in your field of expertise, would you opt in? For veterinary professionals, the highest achievement is to provide excellent support to the animals in our care.

In addition, by earning the accreditation as an AAHA-certified veterinary practice, we pass the value of oversight, support, and regulation onto our growing community of pet owners. You can have confidence that an AAHA veterinary practice will provide superior care to your best friend, and work towards the healthiest outcomes.

THE BROAD STROKES

The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) is an independent organization designed to evaluate and certify veterinary hospitals. The application for certification is voluntary. As such, less than a quarter of all pet hospitals in the United States and Canada are certified by the AAHA.

How This Affects You and Your Pet

The guiding principles of the AAHA are intended to help hospitals and doctors achieve the very best veterinary methods. An AAHA-accredited veterinary hospital must adhere to specific standards of care that display excellence in each facet of the facility. In fact, an AAHA-accredited veterinary hospital must pass over 900 different procedures, processes, and protocols to earn the gold standard in veterinary medicine. These include the following:

Our team works together to carefully follow stringent protocols and procedures set forth by AAHA. We are also excited to attend professional development conferences and classes that help us improve. As an AAHA-accredited veterinary hospital, we attract only the best talent in our industry to provide the best possible experience.

Signs of the Times

Veterinary medicine continues to evolve. As such, the standards set by AAHA are updated when new advances in veterinary science become part of a safe, effective practice. Established almost a century ago in 1933, AAHA remains on the cutting edge of veterinary science and animal care.

Not only is the application for accreditation exceptionally thorough and rigorous, we undergo on-site evaluations every 3 years in order to maintain our status as an accredited hospital.

When a client enters our doors, we aim to go above and beyond to exceed their expectations. As an AAHA-accredited veterinary hospital, we are given all the tools and support to meet the needs of our clients and their pets.
